Can America and China Trust Each Other?

Chinese-American Author Reveals How China Will Change America

San Francisco, CA— The Chinese president Hu Jintao’s state visit to the U. S. is a sign of strengthening ties between the two countries.  The relationship between the U.S. and China is one of the most important relations in the 21st century and is critical for the world’s stability and prosperity.  Although there are notable differences between the two countries, the leaders of both recognize that the U.S. and China have a lot to gain by working together.  One of the concrete results of the visit is the $45 billion agreement allowing U.S. exports into China, which will create 235,000 jobs in America.

Author Helen Wang says, “In the long run, there will still be issues in currency, human rights, and intellectual property, etc., and there will be ups and downs, but I don’t think the U.S.-China relations will turn into a cold-war kind of confrontation.  It will be a work-in-progress relationship.”

Chinese Consumers Helped Pull American Comapnies through the Recession

A new breed of enthusiastic Chinese consumers helped to pull many U. S. companies through the global recession.

While older Chinese still save almost 50 percent of their incomes, younger generations are “shopaholics” and save next to zero. Salaries for young Chinese aged between 20 and 30 almost tripled in less than a decade. The number of credit cards exploded in China, from 13 million in 2005 to more than 115 million in 2009.

A typical young middle class Chinese drives a Buick, talks on an iPhone, eats in MacDonald’s, and wears Nikes.
